UMBRIA:
Between dream and intellect
There are few regions capable, as Umbria,
of exciting intense emotions.
The ancient Umbrian land continues to release mysterious
life energies which gently envelop visitors, stirring their
curiosity, intellect and heart.
Gaia Art Farm
occupies a large rural area on the right bank of the Tevere
river, with a spectacular view of Martani Mountains.
Near the town of Marsciano,
are scattered hamlets and castles of rare beauty, such as
Sant’Apollinare and Spina.
The Fersenone valley
is one of the intact places where you can discover
waterfalls, waterworn stone and natural vegetation.
The most important buildings of Marsciano are two palaces,
Palazzo Pietromarchi (16th century), and Palazzo Municipale
(1871), and a theatre, Il Teatro Concordia (19th century).
The narrow streets of an old fortified castle allow visitors
to admire parts of the wall and the ancient towers: Bolli,
Boccali, Porta Vecchia.
Evocative landscapes
of the Fersenone valley where there are scattered medieval
castles, of which the most prominent is Castello di
Sant’Apollinare, an elegant Byzantine building from the 11th
century.
